Mrs. Beeton's Guide of Household Management

I was working as a tour guide in a heritage house when I first saw a copy of Mrs. Beeton's Book of Household Management .  I was 17 and lived with my parents still but I loved this guide that would tell everyone how to best manage their houses in the late 1890s.  I longed for the both simple and complicated times of the past where a book could tell you how to do things.    In today's society we stress perfection... picture perfect moments that you can post it on social media.  There is a huge DIY community but I have to say, I'd rather not learn how to make my own kitschy beeswax candles in the shapes of small gnomes or make ridiculously themed lunches for my kids...but learn something more real.  Something I need to know.  Something that can help me work through the challenges at my door in my new home... a modern guide of how I can manage my household with my husband and my family.  Our house & property need a lot of work so a plan of how we can do it is definite
